Partnership for a Connected Illinois to Kick-Off Wednesday Webinar Series on May 4

SPRINGFIELD, Illinois, April 21, 2011 – With high speed internet increasingly recognized as the key to improving our economy and enhancing our quality of life, the Partnership for a Connected Illinois is developing tools to ensure better access to and usage of broadband in Illinois.

“Illinois is in a race to foster investment in broadband,” said Drew Clark, Executive Director of Partnership for a Connected Illinois. “Our mission is to ensure that our state leads in the effort to advance broadband deployment and to ensure that this investment has a positive impact on residents in every region of the state.”

Part of that mission is to engage multiple broadband players across the state. On Wednesday, May 4, 2011, PCI will kick-off a series of webinar discussions designed to foster greater involvement in PCI’s efforts to advance broadband in Illinois. At the first webinar, Clark and the staff of PCI will host a discussion of Illinois’ new broadband map, available at http://broadbandillinois.org, and how it will help prepare Illinois for a brighter future.
