Follow-up webinar to continue discussion on Illinois Gigabit Community Challenge

SPRINGFIELD, February 27, 2012 - The upcoming Gigabit Communities Challenge Follow-Up Webinar will foster continued discussion on Governor Quinn's recently-announced competition.

The webinar will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 14 and continue for approximately one hour. The Partnership for a Connected Illinois, in conjunction with partnering technology organizations, will host the online event.

Webinar participants will receive answers to questions regarding viable projects, application procedures, and other queries raised in the first kick-off webinar on February 22, also hosted by Partnership for a Connected Illinois.

Gov. Quinn announced the Gigabit Communities Challenge in his Feb. 1 State of the State address. The challenge will provide up to $4 million in capital funding to public or private organizations that develop the most promising ultra high-speed Internet deployment projects.
