UIC Urban Forum: Technology and the Resilience of Metropolitan Regions

You are invited to the 2013 UIC Urban Forum titled Technology and the Resilience of Metropolitan Regions."  This historic event is taking place at the UIC Forum, 725 W. Roosevelt Rd, in Chicago on Thursday, December 5, 2013, beginning at 8:45am. Admission is free for all students and faculty of Chicagoland colleges and universities.

The 2013 Forum is an opportunity for both students and academia to participate in a debate about the role of technology as a critical element in enhancing the capacity of public institutions to adjust and adapt to metropolitan regions’ emerging economic, political and social conditions. More specifically, panels and white papers are being designed around the linkages between technology and health-care responsibilities, access to government services, workforce-training and education needs, and , and advanced manufacturing.

All attendees will be given a free copy of the University of Illinois Press book that includes the white papers from the 2012 UIC Urban Forum on “Metropolitan Resilience in a Time of Economic Turmoil.”
