Impact Grants provide quicker turn-around time for smaller project needs. Impact Grant applications are accepted through an online application system (link below). These grants were formerly known as Fast-Track Grants. Applying nonprofit organizations must reside in
Mercer,
Rock Island,
Knox,
Henry,
Whiteside, or
Carroll County.
Applications received during one month will be reviewed and awarded by the 20th of the following month. For example, Impact Grant applications received in January will be reviewed and awarded by February 20th. These awards are reviewed competitively with other applications received during the same month.
An application is only reviewed once. An organization may only receive one Impact Grant. Also, if an organization is awarded an Impact Grant, they are not eligble to apply for a Core Mission Grant until the following calendar year.
Amount and Frequency of Impact Grants
Impact Grants are made up to $2,500 each. CFGRB designates $60,000 per year, or up to $5,000 on average per month.
Purpose of Impact Grants
Impact Grants may be used to fill a variety of funding needs.
Preferences will be given to capacity-building grants, which may include:
- Strategic planning
- Board training and education
- Staff training
- Succession planning
- Collaborative work/partnerships with other agencies
- Critical equipment needs
- Technology/software needs
All Impact Grant applications will be evaluated on the following criteria:
1. Broad Reach: The project will benefit a large number of people.
2. Clear Measures: Goals and outcomes are clear and measurable.
3. Inclusion: The project will reach vulnerable and diverse populations.
4. Volunteer Leverage: The project engages and utilizes volunteer resources.
5. Financial Leverage: The project engages other funding sources.
6. Partnership: The project uses partnerships to accomplish project goals.
7. Overall Impact Potential: The project does important work in the community.
