Illinois Broadband Innovation Fund Accepting Applications, Announces Q & A Webinar

 

Thursday’s webinar will address remaining program questions and assist with online submission

SPRINGFIELD, Illinois, September 5, 2012 – The deadline to apply to the Illinois Broadband Innovation Fund is less than one week away and organizations throughout the state are putting final touches on their plans to expand high-speed internet adoption and usage.

The Illinois Broadband Innovation Fund will award up to $500,000 to creative proposals from private, public, and nonprofit organizations seeking to improve education, healthcare, agriculture and other sectors through high-speed internet usage.

Broadband Illinois will host a question and answer webinar at 2 p.m. tomorrow, Thursday, September 6. This session will serve as an open forum to ask any remaining questions regarding the Broadband Innovation Fund, review frequently asked questions posed during last week’s Broadband Innovation Tour, and walk though how to submit completed proposals through the online portal. To register for tomorrow’s webinar, visit www.broadbandillinois.org/calendar/176.

For questions regarding the Illinois Broadband Innovation Fund, email innovation@broadbandillinois.org. Messages directed to this email address are distributed amongst a variety of Broadband Illinois staff and queries will be responded to within one business day. The last day to receive answers to questions is Monday, September 10 and the deadline to apply for a grant is Tuesday, September 11.

There are two ways to apply to the Broadband Innovation Fund:

  1. Visit www.broadbandillinois.org/innovation , click “Apply” and submit information though the online portal. You will receive an email receipt verifying your submission.  
  2. Visit www.broadbandillinois.org/innovation to download an editable PDF form. Email completed PDF’s to innovation@broadbandillinois.org. Broadband Illinois staff will respond, verifying they have received each application.
