Vote to Find Wi-Fi in Rural Illinois

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. - July 17, 2012.  Broadband Illinois has applied for a grant to help rural residents find Wi-Fi Hotspots in their area.

If selected for the Rural Digital Advocacy Grant, we'll develop a "Wi-Fi Locator Mobile Application" for smartphones and tablets that will locate businesses with public Wi-Fi and provide contact information, hours and fees. We'll also get youth involved by partnering with local FFA and 4-H clubs to help find hot spots and market the application.

In addition to awards made by the grants selection committee,  the public may vote for an entry that will also earn a grant!
